Psychologist (Clinical or Registered) – Trauma Focus
Change Your Mind Psychology is a small, well-established private practice in Altona Meadows, in Melbourne's west. We have adult clients on our waitlist now and are turning away referrals, many of them for trauma. We're looking for a clinical or registered psychologist to join us 2 days a week. School-hours arrangements are welcome.
What we offer
- A full adult caseload quickly: we have a waitlist and GP referrals coming in regularly
- Part-time employment: $95,000–$115,000 per year (full-time equivalent), paid pro rata, plus super, paid leave, and a per-session bonus once your diary is full
- Your choice of 2 days (Monday to Thursday), with hours that can fit around school drop-off and pick-up
- Virtual reception and practice management support, so your days are for clients
- Our own purpose-built practice management system (PsychRooms) for bookings, notes and billing
- A comfortable, fully furnished consulting room and free on-site parking
- A mix of Medicare (Better Access) and WorkSafe clients
- Access to VR exposure therapy equipment for anxiety, phobia and trauma work
- Support from the practice principal on site
Built on PsychRooms
Bookings, notes and billing run on PsychRooms, our own practice management system, purpose-built for Australian psychologists by our principal psychologist. It keeps the clinical, admin and professional sides of practice in one place:
- Clinical notes — AI and audio-assisted drafting, de-identified and processed in Sydney, with signed, locked records
- Medicare & funder billing — Medicare and third-party funder claims prepared from the booking
- Psychometrics — DASS-21, K10, PCL-5, GAD-7, PHQ-9 and more sent to clients, scored and filed automatically
- CPD tracking — your CPD year planned and logged as you go
- The Vault — a shared clinical resource library, with proper citations
- Scheduling & telehealth — appointments, reminders and telehealth links in one calendar
About you
- General registration with AHPRA; clinical endorsement preferred
- Eligible for a Medicare provider number at our location
- Confident treating adults (18+) with complex presentations, using evidence-based approaches
- Comfortable working independently in a small practice
Highly regarded (not essential)
- Trauma-focused training, especially EMDR, and/or CPT, PE or TF-CBT, including complex and developmental trauma
- Experience with personality presentations, e.g. BPD (DBT or schema therapy skills)
- Substance use and dual diagnosis (e.g. motivational interviewing, relapse prevention)
- Adult ADHD: treatment and/or assessment
- Couples or family relationship work
